Conjugate indices are used in [[Hölder&#039;s inequality]]. Also, if &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;p, q&amp;gt;1&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; are conjugate indices, the spaces &#039;&#039;L&#039;&#039;&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;&#039;&#039;p&#039;&#039;&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; and &#039;&#039;L&#039;&#039;&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;&#039;&#039;q&#039;&#039;&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; are [[dual space|dual]] to each other (see [[Lp space|&#039;&#039;L&#039;&#039;&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;&#039;&#039;p&#039;&#039;&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; space]]). &lt;br /&gt;
