Description EPR spectra of a nitroxide radical as a function of frequency. At 9 GHz the triplet splitting is a powder-pattern shape corresponding to the hyperfine interaction of electron spin (s=1/2) with nitrogen (I=1). The g-anisotropy is unresolved at 9 GHz but starts contributing more and more with increasing frequency. At 95 GHz and above, the right triplet is the remainder of the nitrogen hyperfine interaction whereas the left two lines originate from gxx and gyy components. The nitrogen hyperfine interaction is rather anisotropic in this case, so only the Azz, but not the smaller Axx and Ayy components are resolved.

This chemistry image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “EPR multifrequency spectra.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
